// Efficiency calculation proposal for cylindrical gears.
Abstract

Abstract:
The present paper states the deduction of expressions that allows evaluation of the efficiency in transmissions with
cylindrical engagements. The deduction leaves to considering the efficiency as a function of the exit power and the losses
of power along the practical line of engagement. The paper demonstrates that the efficiency is function of elementary
transmission parameters and the used tool. Solution is given to a problem, as example of application of the results, and the
influence of the angle of pressure of the used tool is evaluated.
Key words: Gears, efficiency.
