// Old procedure as a new alternative in the optimized calculation of gears.
Abstract

Abstract.:
The optimization and rational design of gears have been topics of many investigations and continue being of the interest of
many specialists and studious of this field. The fundamental reasons are conditioned in first place to the fact that the gear
design is very complex due to the number of variables, limitations and relations that involves, and on the other hand there is
the particularity that for each case of optimization the objective function, the restrictions and the independent variables are
generally different. Since two decades, the exhaustive search method is one of the optimization procedures more used in the
rational calculation of gears. In this paper are exposed the bases of the exhaustive search method and shown its
applicability in the rational geometric synthesis of a straight bevel gear.
Keywords: Bevel gear, optimization, design, exhaustive search method.
