Análisis de la influencia de la razón de transmisión en la velocidad específica de deslizamiento // Analysis of the influence of the transmission reason in the specific speed of slip
Abstract

Abstract
Gear transmissions can suffer multiple fails during their operation, being wear one of the most
common, this fail is characteristic of the not lubricated transmissions, and it is characterized by the
decrease of the thickness of the tooth up and down the tooth height that is where main sliding
velocity exists. In this work the essential equations for the calculation of the sliding, displacement
and specific sliding velocity, are exposed, finally, using a program elaborated in a EXCEL
spreadsheet and with the employment of the software AutoCAD, four cases of spur gear
transmissions were evaluated, to determine the influence of the velocity ratio in the specific sliding
velocity.
Key words: Gearing, sliding velocity, displacement velocity, specific sliding velocity, wear
