Fricción y desgaste en elementos circulares empleados en pasadores // Friction and waste in elements circular employees in pins.
Abstract

Abstract
The present work has as objective to establish the behaviour of the fabricated pins of steel grade 45
used in the mats of mining equipment. Due to its working condition, these pieces prematurely wear
away because of the rolling friction. At the same time, this phenomenon produce a superficial
hardening of the outside layers thermally heat treated. To accomplish this aim some samples of
non-used tubes and some used for a period of time were compared. Samples of 30 x 30 mm, cut
with abundant refrigeration, were used for chemical analysis with the employment of a mass
quantum spectrometer. The initial and final hardness of the different samples were also measured.
Samples of 15 x 15 mm were used for microstructure analysis. The microstructure of heat treated
pins before being subjected lo load and after a period of load were studied. In the research results
it is also confirmed the pin hardening due to rolling friction.
Key words: aolling, analysis microestructural, superficial hardening.
