// The use of simulation techniques for the prediction of defects in casting parts.
Abstract

Abstract
The aim of the present paper is to show the evident advantages of using simulation techniques in foundry technologies. The
considerable save of time and economic resources that implies the use of this techniques has spread worldwide.
As in Cuba the use is not extended to the foundries, we intend to demontrate the possibilities of the use of simulation
software for the development of casting technologies.
Key words: Simulations, solidification, mould filling, shrinkage.
