Influencia de la temperatura ambiente en turbinas de gas en zona subtropical costera // Ambient temperature influence on gas turbines in coastal subtropical area
Abstract
En este trabajo se estudió la Influencia de la temperatura ambiente en turbinas de gas en zona subtropical costera, tanto en condiciones de diseño, como después de años de explotación. Durante el estudio se emplearon métodos estadísticos, la observación directa y el criterio de expertos. Fueron procesados estadísticamente y comparados los parámetros fundamentales de esta máquina, en función de la variación de la temperatura ambiente, graficándose su influencia antes y después del mantenimiento, y con su comportamiento original. Se pudo comprobar que la alta temperatura produce una disminución de la potencia de unos 2,5 MW. Como posible solución se evaluó el enfriamiento del aire de entrada por diferentes métodos, seleccionando el de enfriamiento por absorción, lo cual tiene impacto positivo sobre el medio ambiente, aunque tiene como inconveniente las dimensiones de estos equipos. La conveniencia económica se comprobó por el método de flujo de caja, resultando 6 años de recuperación.

Abstract
In this work, the influence of ambient temperature in gas turbines in a coastal subtropical zone was studied, both under design conditions and after years of operation. Statistical methods, direct observation, and expert judgment were used during the study. The fundamental parameters of this machine were statistically processed and compared, depending on the variation of the ambient temperature, plotting their influence before and after maintenance, and with their original behavior. It was found that the high temperature produces a decrease in power of about 2.5 MW. As a possible solution, the cooling of the inlet air was evaluated by different methods, selecting the absorption cooling method, which has a positive impact on the environment, although the size of this equipment is disadvantageous. The economic convenience was verified by the cash flow method, resulting in 6 years of recovery.
